We are looking for a experienced, financially driven, guest focussed full-time Hotel & Events Manager to join and manage our team at Monachyle Mhor Hotel.
We are a family owned boutique hotel with an award winning restaurant and we are looking for a candidate who is passionate about hospitality, can work in service in FOH and other departments when required and has an extensive knowledge of great food and drink.
In this position you will report to the General Hotel Manager & Operations Manager on a daily basis and be responsible for the day to day running of the hotel, weddings and events. You will also support the Food & Beveridge Manager with the FOH. Your role will involve managing staff, checking budgets, promoting Mhor and its services and ensure compliance with all current legislation.
We are looking for someone who has the ability, confidence and knowledge to be able to jump right in an help in all departments when and if required. Working hands-on in service within the restaurant and at events with the Food & Beveridge Manager and team. You maybe a confident Food & Beveridge Manager/Duty Manager who is looking for a their next role.
You will be a natural communicator with great organisational skills who can build and bring the team together and offer support and help when required.
You must be commercially astute, computer literate, results driven and have a knowledge of wines, whiskies, cocktails ideally and have the knowledge of using Mews, Resdiary, which would be highly beneficial.
You should be a team player, not afraid of hard work, be approachable and a great all rounder. You will ensure quality service and standards are maintained while delivering memorable experiences for our new and returning guests. If you are looking for a Monday to Friday 9 to 5pm office based role then this is not for you.
The successful candidate will support, train and the lead by example and have experience ideally of increasing room occupancy, increasing revenue and profits.
Operational Excellence
- Have daily contact the HOD and staff to discuss routine operational matters per department, guest feedback and action taken for events, weddings, VIP arrivals, Group arrivals and any all event planning
- Manage service as and when required, and deal with any staff issues in conjuction with the Operations and HR Manager
- Providing timely and constructive feedback to all direct reports as and when required either formally or informally
Financial Excellence
- Manage payroll costs and headcounts in line with set budgets
- Work closely with the Operations and Finance Manager with regards to annual budgets, forecasting and ongoing planning for the hotel
- Monitor and maintain operation and overhead costs to maintain maximum profit to the hotel
- Track and challenge key cost lines associated with each department
Throughout the year at Monachyle Mhor Hotel we host a range of events. This position requires you to be adaptable and able to manage and support our existing team. We are looking for a candidate who will be passionate about their role, empower their staff, and be warm and welcoming to their guests.
Competitive Annualised Hours Salary, 28 days holiday each year, generous staff discount available across the group, Training, paid weekly, share of tips, on duty staff meals, Live in/Live out option. Live in is available and rent will be deducted at £55 per week.
Own transport is required and a must if you live out due to the rural location of the hotel and ideally live within 45 minutes commute. You will not be considered for this role if you do not have UK Settlement status or are not a UK resident.
