Piano & Guitar Tutor – Primary School – GU15
Approximately 3 hours per week initially | One school day per week | Term time | Scope for additional hours
Link Learning provides creative music tuition to primary schools across the UK. We're a team of musicians and artists who believe children should have the opportunity not just to learn an instrument, but to experiment, improvise, compose and develop confidence in their own musical ideas.
We're looking for a friendly and reliable musician to deliver piano and guitar lessons at a primary school in the GU15 area.
There is an initial timetable of approximately 3 hours of lessons on one day per week during normal school hours, with good potential to grow the timetable as more pupils join. There may also be opportunities to take on additional teaching at other Link Learning schools where available.
You don't necessarily need to be an experienced music teacher
Previous teaching experience is welcome, but it isn't essential. We're equally interested in musicians who enjoy working with children and would like to develop their teaching experience.
We provide training, teaching resources, ongoing support and professional development, so this could suit an experienced tutor or a musician looking to build a regular portfolio of teaching work alongside performing, studying, composing or other freelance work.
We're looking for someone who:
- Can confidently teach beginner primary-school pupils on both piano and guitar
- Is a capable and enthusiastic musician
- Enjoys creativity, including composition and improvisation
- Is friendly, dependable and comfortable working with children
- Is well organised
- Is available during the school day for approximately 3 hours on one day each week
You'll need to complete our safer recruitment process, including an Enhanced DBS check. If you don't already have one, we can arrange this as part of your onboarding.
Why work with Link Learning?
You'll become part of a wider community of creative music practitioners, with lesson resources, training and ongoing support provided by our team. We take care of much of the administration involved in running school tuition, allowing our tutors to concentrate on teaching. Check out out indeed company reviews to see how much our tutors enjoy working with us.
We're particularly interested in finding great musicians with the right attitude towards working with children, so if you think you'd be a good fit but don't meet every point above, we'd still encourage you to apply.
