We are seeking a skilled Light Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of light commercial vehicles. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of light commercial vehicles to identify faults and issues.
- Repair and maintain vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to facilitate accurate repairs.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively during maintenance tasks.
- Perform assembly and disassembly of vehicle components as required.
- Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Ensure all repairs adhere to safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Assist with the diagnosis of complex mechanical problems using specialised diagnostic equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic specialising in light commercial vehicles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair methods.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in vehicle mechanics are preferred but not essential.
