About Newcode
Newcode provides industrial coding, marking and labelling equipment to customers across the food, beverage, logistics, packaging and manufacturing industries.
We are looking for a Print and Apply Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair automated labelling systems at customer sites.
The role
You will work on print-and-apply systems that automatically print and apply barcode, product and traceability labels to products, cases and pallets.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing and commissioning print-and-apply systems
- Attending breakdowns and diagnosing faults
- Servicing thermal-transfer printers and label applicators
- Working with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components
- Setting up printers, sensors, applicators and label positions
- Resolving print-quality, ribbon-feed and label-application issues
- Completing planned preventative maintenance
- Training customers on equipment operation and basic maintenance
- Providing excellent customer service and completing service reports
The ideal candidate
You will ideally have previous field-service experience involving industrial printers, packaging machinery, conveyors, automation or similar production equipment.
You should have:
- Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Some knowledge of pneumatics, sensors and control systems
- A practical and methodical approach to problem-solving
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- A willingness to travel and stay away from home
- A full UK driving licence
Previous print-and-apply experience would be beneficial, but full product training will be provided.
