About Us
Bow Bells Coffee House & Bakery is a busy and welcoming café (Donaghadee and Newtownards) known for great coffee, freshly prepared food, home baking, and excellent customer service. We are looking for a passionate and reliable Café Chef to join our team and help deliver high-quality food in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
As our Café Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting breakfast, brunch, lunch, and bakery items to a consistently high standard. You will play a key role in maintaining food quality, kitchen organisation, and food safety standards while supporting the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook café menu items, including breakfasts, lunches, daily specials, and baked products.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
- Minimise waste and follow portion control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP requirements.
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials.
- Work effectively under pressure during busy service periods.
- Support and communicate positively with front-of-house staff.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience working as a chef, cook, or café chef.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Positive attitude and excellent reliability.
- Ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Experience in stock control and ordering.
- Knowledge of allergen management and dietary requirements.
