Tempest Resourcing are working with St Dominic's School, a specialist day school for pupils aged 7–19 based in Godalming, Surrey, to recruit a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant / LSA.
St Dominic's provides tailored education for young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). As part of the Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust, the school offers a supportive, structured environment focused on communication, independence, and personal development.
The Role:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis across the school day
- Assist teaching staff in delivering a communication-focused, differentiated curriculum
- Implement individual support strategies, including visual aids, AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), and structured routines
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Work closely with SALT and other specialist staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children/young people with SLCN and/or ASC (school, care, or family setting considered)
- Patient, calm, and consistent approach to behaviour support
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in specialist education
- Team Teach, Makaton, or AAC experience desirable but not essential – full training provided
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
