Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the head chef, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food service. Duties
- Assist the head chef in planning and preparing diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency in presentation and taste.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Support team management by mentoring junior staff, fostering a positive working environment, and promoting teamwork.
- Uphold food safety standards by monitoring hygiene practices and compliance with legal requirements.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Assist in training new team members and developing staff skills for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive experience in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of kitchen safety protocols and food safety regulations.
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in serving guests efficiently.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills to liaise with team members and management seamlessly.
