Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cafe Cook to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals in a friendly café environment. The ideal applicant will have previous kitchen experience and a keen eye for detail, ensuring every dish is prepared to the highest standard.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a range of food items according to menu specifications and quality standards
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotation procedures are followed to minimise waste
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, and fryers
- Monitor stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Serve food promptly to customers, ensuring presentation meets the café’s standards
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen setting is highly desirable but you do not need to be a trained chef
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene protocols (we will also give you training in Food Hygiene)
- Experience with meal preparation in a busy café, school, or restaurant environment is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
