Estates Caretaker
The rewards
- £12.00 - £15.00 per hour depending on experience and skills
The role of Estates Caretaker:
- Carry out health and safety daily checks on low-rise and high-rise blocks
- Cleaning of communal areas, litter picking, and removal of rubbish
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs across designated properties
- Perform routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs
- Respond promptly to urgent property-related issues
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repair or maintenance tasks
- Monitor and manage waste disposal and recycling processes
- Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and report issues to management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
The ideal Estates Caretaker:
- Previous experience in property maintenance or a similar role in the public sector
- Good reading and writing skills — required for recording and reporting information
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations for property management
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks
- Good communication skills to liaise with management and contractors
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable time-keeping essential
