Overview
We are looking for a full time or part time, mobile handyman /maintenance engineer to help keep our customers’ air conditioning systems maintained. Necessary training will be provided and relevant courses provided to the successful applicant. The ideal candidate should ideally live within a short distance of Horsham, Crawley, Guildford or Farnham and doesn’t mind travelling. As part of our friendly team, you will be working mainly on your own but occasionally with one of our installation engineers. Travelling away from home is required but is generally no more than 1-2 days a month. There is a working away allowance as well as a meal allowance and you’ll always stay in a respectable hotel. A majority of our work is in the Southern half of the UK.
Following a three months’ probation period and successfully joining our team, should you wish to, we will register you with an accredited body so that you can take a course to pass your F-GAS certification.
Salary is negotiable upon age, location, any prior knowledge or working with air conditioning in the past and a clean UK driving licence.
As a full time member of staff, you’ll be entitled to a minimum of 28 working days fully paid holiday which includes, standard bank and public holidays, Easter. We close for Christmas and New Year and this usually provides an additional 3-5 days paid holiday.
We generally don't work weekends or undertake emergency breakdowns but overtime is available.
We are a well-established, 36 years old company and are a friendly team.
You must reside in the UK, have a clean UK driving licence and have the ability to work well on your own as well as in a team., We will supply a Company vehicle, a working away allowance and a bonus scheme and expenses will be always be paid promptly. You must have a well equipped tool box. We will provide specialist tools etc.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Where Necessary, troubleshoot mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques
- Supervise maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks
- Assist in the installation of new equipment or systems
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client requests promptly and professionally
Skills
- Previous experience in maintenance roles will be an advantage
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude
- Must be able to use stepladders and work at height
- You must be able to work off steps and ladders
