About the role
Instruct Construction Group Ltd delivers high-quality HMO works, refurbishments, rear/side extensions and internal renovations across the East Midlands. We’re looking for a reliable Construction Electrician who can carry out domestic electrical work to a high standard, keep sites tidy, and work well alongside other trades on busy renovation projects.
This suits someone who is organised, works neatly, and can be trusted to get tasks completed without constant supervision.
Typical work you’ll be doing
- 1st fix and 2nd fix electrics on renovation projects and HMOs
- Full and partial re-wires (where required) and alterations during refurb works
- Installing and terminating sockets, switches, lighting, extractor fans and accessories
- Consumer unit changes/adjustments where competent and required
- Testing, fault finding and snagging on completed areas
- Installing smoke/heat alarms and basic domestic systems where required
- Keeping cable runs neat, labelled and compliant with current standards
- Communicating clearly with the site lead on progress and materials needed
- Keeping work areas safe, tidy and protected
Pay
- £230 per day
- Paid monthly (self-employed subcontract basis)
- Day rate is paid for attending site hours as scheduled
Hours / working pattern
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am–3:00pm
- Occasional Saturdays: 7:00am–1:00pm (when required)
- You must be on site for these hours to receive your day rate
Must-have requirements (please only apply if you meet these)
- Must have your own van and be able to drive (essential – multiple sites across NG/DE)
- Must have your own electrical tools suitable for 1st/2nd fix and testing
- Proven domestic electrical experience (refurbs/HMOs/extensions preferred)
- 18th Edition (BS 7671)
- Ability to test and certify your work (where required for the job)
- Reliable timekeeping and able to consistently start at 7:00am
- Own PPE (minimum: safety boots and hi-vis)
- Right to work in the UK (evidence requested after initial contact)
Desirable (not essential, but helps your application)
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or time-served + equivalent experience)
- ECS card
- 2391 / 2394 / 2395 Testing & Inspection (or equivalent)
- Asbestos Awareness / Health & Safety training
