Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and hygienic handling of laundry services within our establishment. The Laundry Assistant will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, contributing to the overall residents experience.
Duties
- Collect, sort, and load laundry items into washing machines and dryers according to established procedures.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Fold, iron, and organise clean linen and clothing items for distribution throughout the property.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and notify management when stock needs replenishing.
- Ensure all laundry is processed within designated timeframes to meet operational demands.
- Assist with special laundry requests or urgent cleaning tasks as required.
- Follow proper handling procedures for delicate or specialised items to prevent damage.
Experience
- Previous care home or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with laundry equipment and processes is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards guest service are highly valued.
