As a Weekend Chef with Sodexo at Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience. You’ll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards. What you’ll do:

Prepare, cook and present nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, visitors and colleagues in line with menu specifications.

Ensure all food is prepared, stored and served in accordance with food safety, health and safety, and infection prevention standards.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen, ensuring equipment and work areas meet the highest hygiene standards.

Support stock control, including stock takes, correct storage, stock rotation and minimising food waste.

Work collaboratively with the wider catering and healthcare teams to deliver an excellent dining experience and meet dietary requirements.

Respond promptly to feedback, report any food safety or operational issues, and support continuous improvement.

Complete all required training and maintain high standards of professionalism, attendance and personal hygiene.
What you bring:
-
A Food Safety Level 2 qualification (or equivalent); a professional cookery qualification is desirable.

Previous experience preparing and cooking food in a professional kitchen, ideally within healthcare, hospitality or contract catering.

A strong understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, allergen management and infection control practices.

A passion for producing high-quality, nutritious meals with excellent attention to detail.

The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment, prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure.

A positive, flexible and team-focused approach, with good communication and listening skills.

A commitment to delivering excellent service and making a positive difference to the experience of patients, visitors and colleagues.
