About Us
MAX Automotive Group Ltd is a fast-growing independent automotive repair business operating from two workshop facilities in Oldbury, including a dedicated EV & Hybrid repair centre. We also provide mobile repair services, vehicle recovery, fleet maintenance, diagnostics, and commercial vehicle repairs across the West Midlands.
We are HEVRA Approved and work on a wide range of vehicles including cars, vans, electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, commercial vehicles, and plant & powered access equipment.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation of our busy workshop.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring workshop productivity, maintaining high repair standards, supporting technicians, and helping drive efficiency throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operation of a busy workshop.
- Allocate jobs effectively to technicians based on skill level and workload.
- Monitor job progress and technician productivity.
- Ensure labour times are achieved and workshop efficiency targets are met.
- Provide technical guidance and support to workshop staff.
- Assist with complex diagnostics and repairs.
- Carry out repairs and servicing when required.
- Liaise with service advisors and management regarding vehicle progress.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
- Maintain health and safety procedures within the workshop.
- Support apprentice development and technician training.
- Assist with workshop planning and scheduling.
Requirements Essential
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Workshop Supervisor, Senior Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic knowledge.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good communication skills.
Desirable
- IMI Qualifications.
- EV & Hybrid Qualifications.
- Experience with fleet and commercial vehicles.
- MOT Tester qualification.
- Previous workshop management experience.

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime available
Experience:
- Workshop Supervisory: 2 years (preferred)
- Vehicle Diagnostics: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
