Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Van Driver for our Pallet Network to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and warehouse operations to contribute to a well-organised delivery service. The position is paid and requires a professional approach to customer service and safety compliance.
Duties
- Safely operate a van within the designated delivery area, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload pallets, ensuring secure handling of goods during transit.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and timeliness.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as organising stock, heavy lifting, and preparing goods for dispatch when required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within a pallet network or logistics environment.
- Valid <PERSON> driver licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, demonstrating safe driving practices over long distances.
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures including heavy lifting and stock organisation.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Organised with good time management skills to meet tight schedules and deadlines.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
