We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly People Day Care Assistant to support and enhance the lives of senior residents in our care facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment, and providing personalised care to meet individual needs. Responsibilities
- Assist elderly residents with daily routines such as personal hygiene and mobility
- Support members in participating in recreational activities, socialising, and therapeutic programmes
- Provide companionship and emotional support to members, fostering a friendly and respectful environment
- Ensure safety protocols are adhered to at all times, including monitoring members for any signs of distress or health issues
- Support with light domestic tasks such as organising activities or serving meals
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues, members, and their families regarding care needs and progress

- Responsible for
- Providing high quality care for our clients and Support for families
- Key Tasks – Clients and Families
- To ensure that a caring and stimulating client led environment is provided for the clients that takes into account individual needs and enables clients to reach their full potential and live independently within our community.
- To facilitate planning with the management/staff team and attend meetings to ensure those clients’ needs are met.
- Have the ability to plan and deliver craft and such activities for daily entertainment and stimulation.
- To effectively work with day care personnel, students and volunteers on a day to day basis
- To establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients and families in a way that supports the client and values family’s involvement
- To ensure that the service respects clients life experiences and celebrates diversity in terms of language, culture, ability race and religion.
- To support the record keeping system for clients and support day care staff in completing and maintaining these records
- To assist in the day to day administration and record keeping.
- To support people living with dementia
- To work affectively as part of the team
- Assist with personal care when required
- To work within the agreed framework of policies and procedures within the Day Care Service
- Accompanying the driver to collect and return members to their home.
- Liaise with family’s and the care staff any relevant information received from family to the care team and information to the care team back to the families.

- To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post with regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy.
- To attend relevant training as offered to ensure knowledge is current.
- To carry out any other duties which will be seen to enhance the work of the organisation
- £13.45 an hour.

- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
- Good communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with members.
Pay: £13.00-£13.45 per hour
