Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including hospice care, home care, and assisted living. This role involves delivering patient care, administering medication, and assisting with daily activities to enhance the quality of life for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following health and safety protocols.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Document client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of hospice care practices and principles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures.
- Experience in home care or assisted living settings is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively when required.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as necessary.
