We’re looking for a reliable & hardworking Kitchen Porter to join the teams at The Cock in Hitchin
Our pubs are chef-led, Michelin Guide-listed venues built around fresh, seasonal cooking, high standards & well-organised kitchens. Everything is prepared on site, which means a clean, efficient kitchen is essential to the quality of food we serve.
This is a valued role within the kitchen team, with the opportunity to learn, develop & progress within a growing hospitality group.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, punctual & ready to work
- Takes pride in keeping a kitchen clean & organised
- Works well as part of a busy team
- Can remain calm & focused during busy services
- Understands the importance of hygiene, safety & attention to detail
- Has a positive attitude & is willing to support wherever needed
Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Washing crockery, cutlery, cookware & kitchen equipment
- Keeping pot wash, storage & preparation areas clean
- Supporting chefs with basic food preparation where required
- Receiving & storing deliveries correctly
- Removing waste & maintaining recycling areas
- Following food safety, cleaning & hygiene procedures
- Helping the kitchen remain organised throughout preparation & service
- Completing opening, closing & deep-cleaning tasks
