Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 12:00pm – 8:00pm (37.5 hours per week including a 30-minute unpaid break) Inclusive of bank holiday Monday’s.

Role Overview
The Dispatch Team Leader plays a critical role in ensuring every customer order leaves our production facility accurately, safely and on time.
Reporting to the Production Director, this is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for managing the daily dispatch operation across all areas of the business, including buffets, deli vans, workplace hubs and customer deliveries.
You will lead the Dispatch Coordinators and wider dispatch team, ensuring customer orders are checked, packed, labelled and loaded correctly while maintaining exceptional standards of food safety, organisation and efficiency.
Working closely with the Production, Kitchen and Delivery teams, you will coordinate daily dispatch activities, manage staffing levels, oversee delivery scheduling and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities - Dispatch Operations
- Plan, organise and oversee all daily dispatch activities.
- Ensure every customer order is accurately checked, packed, labelled and dispatched.
- Ensure all food is ready for driver collection and departure in line with delivery schedules.
- Coordinate dispatch priorities with Production and Kitchen teams.
- Monitor delivery deadlines and proactively resolve any issues.
- Plan efficient delivery routes and driver schedules.
- Ensure all paperwork accompanies deliveries correctly.
- Carry out dispatch quality checks to minimise errors.
- Monitor picking accuracy and implement improvements where required.
- Ensure all food leaves the premises within required temperature specifications.
- Maintain food traceability records and allergen compliance.
- Ensure HACCP procedures are followed at all times.
- Monitor dispatch performance throughout the shift.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout dispatch areas.
- Manage stock within dispatch areas including consumables and packaging.
- Complete daily stock counts where required.
- Manage thermo boxes, trays and equipment returns.
- Ensure dispatch vehicles are correctly loaded and ready for departure.
- Support vehicle cleanliness inspections and operational readiness.
- Assist in monitoring servicing schedules, MOTs, compliance documentation and daily vehicle checks.
- Ensure temperature monitoring equipment is functioning correctly.
- Investigate dispatch-related customer complaints and identify root causes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and develop the Dispatch Team.
- Directly manage Dispatch Coordinators and wider dispatch colleagues.
- Lead by example through a hands-on approach to daily operations.
- Allocate workloads to achieve operational priorities.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout each shift.
- Coordinate overtime requirements when necessary.
- Recruit, induct and train new team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and one-to-one meetings.

Systems & Administration
- Operate and maintain dispatch records using company systems.
- Use Date Code Genie to ensure product traceability.
- Maintain accurate records within Vend Manager.
- Utilise route planning software to coordinate deliveries efficiently.
- Monitor digital temperature records.
- Produce operational reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Analyse dispatch data and recommend improvements.
- Team attendance and punctuality.
- Dispatch area housekeeping standards.
- Continuous improvement initiatives delivered.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a dispatch, warehouse, logistics or food production environment.
- Previous experience leading or supervising operational teams.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.

- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using warehouse or stock management systems.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
