Job Overview
An opportunity for an experienced manager to lead a team helping vulnerable adults manage their finances, correspondence, property and wider day-to-day affairs. The role requires someone with experience of managing people, exercising sound judgement and taking responsibility for complex and sensitive client matters.
Enable does not provide personal care. We coordinate practical support and work alongside clients, families, attorneys, deputies, care providers, local authorities and other professionals.
This role would particularly suit someone with experience in adult social care, Court of Protection, professional attorney or deputy services, advocacy or another relevant support service who is ready to apply their leadership, safeguarding and decision-making skills in a different environment, without shift-based or personal-care responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Client Support Team, providing clear direction, supervision, coaching and performance management to maintain high standards of client support.
- Oversee the team’s day-to-day workload, setting priorities, allocating responsibilities and ensuring that client requests and agreed actions are completed accurately and promptly.
- Take ownership of complex or sensitive client situations, using sound judgement to make confident decisions within delegated authority and providing clear recommendations where director, attorney or deputy approval is required.
- Act as the first point of support and escalation for the Client Support team, enabling staff to resolve problems confidently and ensuring that matters requiring higher-level authority are escalated appropriately.
- Oversee the onboarding of new clients, including conducting initial meetings, gathering relevant information and ensuring that the client’s circumstances, wishes, communication needs and practical support needs are properly understood and recorded.
- Maintain oversight of client matters across the organisation, coordinating actions with colleagues and ensuring that responsibilities, deadlines and follow-up actions are clear.
- Build effective relationships with clients, their families and representatives, attorneys, deputies, care providers, local authorities, health professionals and other relevant organisations.
- Coordinate the initial response to safeguarding concerns, assessing immediate risk, guiding staff and ensuring that concerns are recorded and referred internally or externally when appropriate.
- Ensure client records, correspondence and documentation are accurate, complete, confidential and maintained in accordance with data-protection requirements and organisational procedures.
- Support the induction, training and ongoing development of Client Support Team members, particularly in relation to safeguarding, communication, professional boundaries, record-keeping and working with vulnerable adults.
- Monitor team performance, workloads, service standards and emerging risks, addressing issues promptly and providing the Director of Client Services with clear updates and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, consistency and service quality, using feedback and operational information to support better outcomes for clients.
- Represent the Client Support Team at senior management meetings and contribute to the wider development of Enable’s services.
