An opportunity has arisen for a General Operative at our site in Openshaw in Manchester M11.
The purpose of the General Operative is to ensure that all metals are sorted, processed and stored efficiently and safely
Key Responsibilities Of The General Operative Include
- Manual work both indoors and outdoors in all weather
- Customer service
- Sorting material into differnet grades for processing.
- Previous scrap metal industry experience preferable but not required
- Working with both ferrous and non ferrous metals
- Assisting with offloading suppliers metals
- Operating metal processing equipment
- Previous Fork lift experience welcome but not nessecary.
Applicants must have a proven track record of having worked in a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
The candidate will have sound knowledge of Health and Safety and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
The role requires exceptional organisational skills along with strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, flexible, reliable, adaptable and will have integrity and confidentiality.
Fork lift and Material Scrap Handler licences would be advantageous but are not essential for this position.
