Job Overview
Conway House Dental Practice is seeking a professional, organised and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our welcoming team.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating an excellent patient experience while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our busy reception. This position requires outstanding communication and organisational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental environment.
Previous dental reception or administrative experience is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate with excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients warmly and ensure they receive a friendly and professional service.
- Manage appointment bookings, confirmations, cancellations and rescheduling using the practice management system.
- Handle patient check-in and check-out efficiently.
- Answer telephone calls, respond to patient enquiries and direct calls where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with GDPR and practice policies.
- Process patient payments and assist with billing procedures.
- Send appointment reminders and follow up on missed appointments or outstanding treatment.
- Support the dental team with general administrative duties, including filing, scanning, printing and correspondence.
- Order and maintain reception supplies as required.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organised and welcoming at all times.
- Work closely with the clinical team to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
Experience & Skills
- Previous reception, customer service or administrative experience is preferred.
- Dental reception experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Friendly, professional and approachable manner.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy environment.
- Confident using computers and learning new software.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is beneficial.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
- References must be available upon request.
