Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Machine Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various machinery and equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency. Your mechanical expertise and hands-on skills will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Respond quickly to machinery faults to minimise production downtime.
- Identify potential issues and carry out repairs before failures occur.
- Maintain machinery, equipment and production areas to a high standard.
- Complete maintenance records and report faults or recurring issues.
- Work closely with production staff to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Follow all company health & safety procedures and maintenance standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Machine Technician or similar within a manufacturing/production environment.
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
- Electrical knowledge and the ability to diagnose basic electrical faults would be advantageous although not essential
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance and breakdown response.
- Relevant engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent.
- Able to work independently and use initiative when diagnosing faults.
- Good attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Health & Safety conscious.
Hours & Benefits
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Ongoing temporary position with potential for permanent employment
- Opportunity to join an established production business.
- Regular Monday-Friday working pattern.
Salary is dependant on experience
Immediate start available for the right person.
