Relief Hot Tub Maintenance Assistant – Flexible / Part-Time
Location: Glasscombe, near Bath, Wiltshire
Pay: £15 per hour
Hours: Typically 3–5 hours per shift
Schedule: Flexible relief work, including some weekends
Role Overview
Glasscombe is looking for a reliable Relief Hot Tub Maintenance Assistant to provide additional cover for our regular hot tub maintenance team.
This is a flexible role rather than a position with fixed daily hours. You will primarily be asked to work:
- On days when we have particularly heavy guest turnover
- When our main hot tub maintenance person is on holiday, ill or otherwise unavailable
- At other busy periods when additional maintenance support is required
Some weeks may have several shifts available, while at other times there may be little or no work. Wherever possible, shifts will be arranged in advance, although occasional short-notice availability would be helpful.
This would suit someone looking for flexible part-time work who is comfortable working independently and enjoys practical outdoor work.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on guest turnover, you may be responsible for preparing approximately 2–8 hot tubs per shift.
Your duties will include:
- Draining hot tubs after guest stays
- Thoroughly cleaning and preparing each tub
- Refilling tubs with fresh water
- Starting and managing the heating process
- Testing water chemistry and making adjustments where required
- Ensuring sanitizer, pH and other water-quality levels are within the correct ranges
- Completing and maintaining accurate maintenance logs
- Identifying and reporting any equipment or maintenance problems
- Ensuring each hot tub is clean, safe, heated and ready for arriving guests
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and dependable
- Highly detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently without constant supervision
- Practical and willing to get stuck into hands-on work
- Happy working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to follow established procedures consistently
- Comfortable maintaining accurate written records
- Physically capable of carrying out cleaning, draining and general hot tub maintenance tasks
- Flexible enough to provide cover when required
Previous experience maintaining hot tubs, swimming pools or similar equipment is preferred, but not essential. Full training will be provided.
Hours and Availability
Most shifts will involve approximately 3–5 hours of work, depending on the number of hot tubs requiring turnover that day.
The position is intended to provide relief and additional capacity, so there are no guaranteed minimum hours.
Work will generally be required during daytime hours so that hot tubs can be cleaned, refilled and heated before incoming guests arrive.
Weekend availability is important because guest turnover takes place seven days a week. You will not necessarily work every weekend, but you should be comfortable providing weekend cover when required.
Pay
£15 per hour
You will be paid for the hours you work.
Why This Role
This position may be particularly suitable for someone who:
- Wants flexible work alongside another job or other commitments
- Prefers practical work rather than sitting behind a desk
- Enjoys working outdoors
- Is comfortable working independently
- Would like occasional additional hours rather than a fixed full-time schedule
Although previous hot tub maintenance experience would be useful, we are primarily looking for someone who is reliable, careful and willing to learn. We will provide full training on our hot tubs, cleaning procedures, water chemistry and maintenance records.
