Tristan Eves Hair Salon is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join their friendly team as an Apprentice Hairdresser. If you are passionate about hair and keen to learn in a professional salon environment, then this is a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on experience while studying for a Hair Professional Level 2 Apprenticeship.
What you will gain:
- Experience from the very beginning while working alongside experienced stylists and building your practical skills.
- You will have a dedicated in-salon training session each week, working alongside experienced stylists and developing your skills on training models and salon clients.
- You will also attend hairdressing college one day per week as part of your apprenticeship programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting clients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Reception duties, including answering the telephone, booking appointments, and processing client payments.
- Preparing and serving refreshments for clients.
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout the salon, including keeping workstations clean and tidy and ensuring floors are clear of hair.
- Assisting stylists throughout the day with salon services and preparation.
- Shampooing and conditioning clients' hair in preparation for services.
- Assisting with colour removal processes and neutralising perm treatments under supervision.
- Supporting the team in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Participating in dedicated in-salon training sessions and practical learning opportunities.

Working Week: 30 hours per week over 5 days – including one Saturday per month and one day attending Chichester College per week.

What you need to know:
- This Level 2 qualification is a 24-month apprenticeship plus a 3-month end point assessment.
- To apply you must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years before the start date of the apprenticeship learning and have authorisation to work in the UK.
- You cannot apply if you already have a qualification equal to or higher than the apprenticeship standard being studied.
- You can apply if you have a higher qualification than the apprenticeship standard in an unrelated subject.
- This role is based in Petworth with required attendance at college in Chichester.
- Own transport would be an advantage.
Further Information: Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £8.00 per hour (As of the 1st April 2026). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16- to 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.
