Overview
Due to medical retirement We are seeking a dedicated Dispenser (Trainee) / Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, managing medication dispensing, and ensuring smooth reception operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures and excellent communication skills, contributing to a welcoming and efficient environment for patients and staff alike.
Duties
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols
- Assist patients at the reception desk, answering queries and directing them appropriately
- Manage patient records and update electronic health systems with precision
- Administer medications under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety standards
- Provide compassionate patient care, including offering advice and support as needed
- Handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and manage administrative tasks efficiently
- Maintain stock levels of medications and pharmacy supplies, placing orders when necessary
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable but training is also available.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a busy environment
- A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or related field is preferred
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection standards
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary

Pay: From £13.22 per hour
