Job Summary:
An HR Assistant in the UK plays a crucial role in supporting the human resources (HR) department by handling administrative tasks related to recruitment, employee relations, payroll, and compliance. Their responsibilities typically include:
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Posting job advertisements and managing applications.
- Scheduling interviews and coordinating with candidates.
- Preparing offer letters and contracts.
- Handling right-to-work checks and background screening.
- Assisting with new employee inductions.
Employee Records & Documentation:
- Maintaining and updating HR databases and personnel files.
- Managing absence records, including sickness and holiday leave.
- Ensuring compliance with GDPR regarding employee data.
Payroll & Benefits Administration:
- Supporting payroll processing by collecting and verifying employee data.
- Assisting with employee benefits, such as pensions and healthcare.
- Handling expenses and reimbursement claims.
HR Policies & Compliance:
- Ensuring company policies align with UK employment laws.
- Assisting with disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Keeping up to date with changes in HR legislation.
Training & Development:
- Coordinating staff training sessions and maintaining training records.
- Assisting with employee development programs.
General HR Support:
- Supporting HR projects and initiatives.
- Assisting in performance management processes.
Skills Required:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of UK employment law.
- Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HR software (e.g., Workday, SAP, or internal HRIS).
Pay: Up to £26,000.00 per year
