The Role
We are looking for an experienced Resin Flooring Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance of Zenith Flooring.
This is a key senior position within the business and an opportunity for the right individual to have a genuine impact on the continued growth and development of the company.
You will oversee the successful delivery of multiple industrial and commercial flooring projects across the UK, ensuring that projects are properly planned, resourced and delivered to the required standards of safety, quality, programme and profitability.
The successful candidate will provide leadership to our project and site teams, coordinate labour and resources, work closely with clients and the commercial team, and ensure that Zenith's operational processes continue to develop as the business grows.
We are looking for someone who understands construction operations at a senior level and, ideally, has direct experience within resin flooring, industrial flooring, specialist coatings, screeding or a closely related construction discipline.
This is not a purely office-based management position. You will be expected to be visible, involved and accountable across our projects and teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management
- Take overall responsibility for the effective operational delivery of Zenith Flooring's projects.
- Oversee multiple live projects simultaneously across the UK.
- Ensure projects are properly planned, resourced and delivered in accordance with agreed programmes.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to maximise productivity.
- Develop and maintain effective operational systems, procedures and controls.
- Identify operational risks early and implement solutions before they affect project delivery.
- Ensure projects are handed over efficiently and professionally.
Project Delivery
- Provide senior oversight of project performance from mobilisation through to completion.
- Monitor programme, labour requirements, productivity and project progress.
- Ensure site teams have the information, materials, equipment and resources required to deliver their work effectively.
- Work closely with Contracts Managers, Site Supervisors and installation teams.
- Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure works are completed to the agreed specification and Zenith's quality standards.
- Support the delivery of out-of-hours, phased and fast-track projects where required to minimise client disruption.
Commercial & Financial Performance
- Take responsibility for the operational contribution to project profitability.
- Monitor labour productivity, material usage, plant costs and subcontractor performance.
- Work closely with the commercial/estimating team to ensure projects are delivered in line with budgets.
- Identify areas of operational waste and implement improvements.
- Assist with variations, additional works and commercial opportunities arising during projects.
- Ensure lessons learned from completed projects are fed back into future estimating and planning.
People & Leadership
- Lead, motivate and develop Zenith's operational teams.
- Support the recruitment, training and development of site-based personnel.
- Set clear expectations around productivity, quality, safety and professionalism.
- Build a strong culture of accountability and teamwork.
- Identify training and development requirements within the operational team.
- Develop future supervisors and managers within the business.
- Manage performance where required and ensure company standards are consistently maintained.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a strong safety culture across all Zenith projects.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company procedures, RAMS and relevant legislation.
- Work closely with the company's health & safety processes and management systems.
- Ensure site teams understand and follow required procedures.
- Monitor site standards and take immediate action where required.
- Promote best practice in relation to dust control, PPE, chemical handling, plant operation and working in live industrial environments.
Quality
- Maintain Zenith's high standards of workmanship across all projects.
- Ensure flooring systems are installed in accordance with specifications, manufacturer requirements and project requirements.
- Monitor quality throughout projects rather than relying solely on final inspection.
- Investigate defects, complaints and remedial requirements and ensure effective corrective action.
- Develop a culture where quality is owned by everyone involved in the project.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with clients, principal contractors, project managers and other key stakeholders.
- Act as a senior point of contact for operational matters.
- Attend project meetings and client meetings where required.
- Ensure client expectations are understood and consistently met.
- Deal professionally with issues and ensure problems are resolved quickly.
- Identify opportunities to increase repeat business and develop existing client relationships.
Business Development & Growth
- Work with the senior management team to support Zenith's continued growth.
- Identify opportunities for additional works and services with existing clients.
- Assist in developing operational capability to support increased turnover.
- Provide feedback on market opportunities, competitors and customer requirements.
- Help develop the operational structure required to support the company's future growth.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be an experienced construction professional with strong operational and people-management skills.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience in a senior construction management, operations, contracts or project management position.
- Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of construction project delivery and site operations.
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication and client-management abilities.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
- The confidence to make decisions and take ownership.
- A strong understanding of health & safety requirements within construction.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
Resin / Industrial Flooring Experience
Experience within resin flooring, industrial flooring, screeding, concrete preparation, specialist coatings or a related specialist construction sector would be highly advantageous.
A strong understanding of systems such as epoxy, polyurethane, polyaspartic, self-levelling compounds and industrial screeds would be particularly beneficial.
However, we will consider exceptional candidates from other construction sectors who can demonstrate the leadership, commercial and operational capability required for the role.

Pay: £57,500.00-£62,500.00 per year
