Overview
We are seeking experienced HGV 1 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The position involves operating either curtainsided or fridge trailers and requires a valid commercial driving licence. Applicants should have prior delivery or trunk driver experience and be committed to maintaining high standards of vehicle maintenance and road safety.
Shifts available are Monday to Friday days / nights and weekends if desired
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV 1 vehicles in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and roadworthiness
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and minimise delays
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Communicate professionally with clients and dispatch teams regarding schedules or issues
- Adhere to all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation
Qualifications
- Valid HGV 1 (Category C+E) licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving minimum 1 year
- No more than 6 points on licence ( no major endorsements)
- Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards for heavy goods vehicles
- Current DCPC & digital tacho cards
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
