We're looking for an exceptional Practice Manager to join Vanguard Dental at an exciting stage in our journey.
Over the last few years, we've grown to two modern NHS and private dental practices across Glasgow, with exciting plans for the future. We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people, building systems and continuously improving how a business operates.

The Role
This is a varied, hands-on management role that combines operational leadership with strategic thinking.
You'll oversee the day-to-day running of both practices while working closely with the owner to improve systems, develop our team and help shape the future direction of the business.
No two days will be the same.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate and support the practice teams across both locations
- Foster a positive, professional and supportive culture
- Conduct one-to-one meetings and annual appraisals
- Recruit, induct and develop new team members
- Coordinate training and ongoing professional development
- Manage performance and support staff wellbeing
Practice Operations
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of both practices
- Manage staff rotas
- Maximise surgery utilisation and diary efficiency
- Ensure exceptional patient service standards
- Coordinate equipment servicing and maintenance
- Develop and improve operational systems and processes
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure both practices remain inspection-ready
- Oversee Health & Safety and GDPR
- Manage policies, audits and regulatory requirements
- Monitor training and compliance records
Financial Performance
- Monitor key performance indicators
- Analyse practice performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support budgeting and cost control
- Improve diary utilisation and treatment conversion
- Produce and review management reports
Patient Experience
- Lead on complaints handling and patient feedback
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards
- Continuously improve the patient journey
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems and making businesses run better.
You'll be organised, approachable and confident making decisions, with the ability to balance the day-to-day demands of managing two busy practices while also looking at the bigger picture.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, enjoys improving systems and wants to play a key role in the future growth of Vanguard Dental.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning ability
- Experience managing and developing teams
- Commercial awareness
- Confident using IT systems and reporting tools
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to work across both practices
Desirable
- Previous management experience within a dental practice
- Experience within mixed NHS and private dentistry
- Knowledge of NHS Scotland dental systems
- Healthcare Improvement Scotland inspection experience
- Experience using dental practice management software
- Marketing or business development experience
- Project management experience
