Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and facilitating engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents, with a particular focus on senior care and dementia support. Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or care environments is highly desirable. Duties
- Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities designed to promote socialisation, mental stimulation, and physical wellbeing among residents.
- Organise group outings, entertainment sessions, and personalised activities that cater to individual preferences and abilities.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ needs and adapt activities accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and resident feedback to evaluate programme effectiveness.
- Support residents during activities, providing assistance as needed while promoting independence.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure a positive experience for all involved.
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer’s care is highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to organise engaging activities tailored for older adults with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents of varying cognitive abilities.
- Experience working in a care home environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates committed to learning.
