We are looking for a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone with strong culinary skills, excellent organisation, and the confidence to run kitchen operations independently when required. You will work closely with the Head Chef to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and food preparation.
- Lead the kitchen team and run shifts independently in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standard and in a timely manner.
- Support menu planning, recipe development, and daily specials.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Train, supervise, and motivate junior kitchen staff.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste.
- Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Uphold consistency in presentation, portion control, and quality.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a professional kitchen.
- Strong cooking skills and a passion for high-quality food.
- Ability to work independently and confidently lead a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £23,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
