Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team, providing essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for those in your care by delivering personalized assistance, fostering independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence
- Support clients in adhering to their personalized care plans by following prescribed routines and procedures
- Maintain clear and open communication with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent and effective care delivery
- Use IT tools and electronic records to document care activities accurately and keep detailed logs of client progress
- Drive or accompany clients to appointments, outings, or errands safely and responsibly when required
- Monitor clients’ health status, report any changes or concerns promptly to the appropriate team members
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines within care settings or home environments
Skills
- Valid driving license with reliable driving skills for transportation needs
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care services is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the role
- Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to each individual’s needs
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with clients, families, and colleagues
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and documentation of care activities
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a caring attitude that fosters trust and rapport with clients
- Good understanding of health and safety practices relevant to care environments
