The Job
As Van Fleet Sales Manager, you will lead, manage, and coach a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) to drive the growth of Mercedes-Benz van sales across the desired region in Fleet sales.
You will develop and implement strategic sales plans, set performance targets in line with manufacturer and business objectives, and provide hands-on support to achieve revenue while ensuring the highest standards of customer service and brand alignment with Mercedes-Benz and SAGA values.
You’ll be responsible for fostering strong client relationships, guiding the sales team in consultative selling, and overseeing the full sales process, from prospecting and deal negotiation to delivery and after-sales follow-up. In addition, you will maintain expert product and market knowledge, using this to train and motivate your team and identify new opportunities.
This role requires a results-driven leader with a deep understanding of the commercial vehicle sector and a proven ability to deliver consistent sales performance. The Van Fleet Sales Manager will also carry a personal sales target, with a particular focus on maintaining and growing key fleet accounts to ensure long-term revenue stability and client retention.
On Offer
Basic £60,000 - £75,000, dependent on experience Attractive Bonus scheme with the potential to overachieve. Company Car Plus, the other standard group benefits.
About You
Strong experience in dealing with large customers in fleet commercial sales. • Ability to build and lead a team. • Ability to design detailed, high-impact solutions that secure large deals. • Extensive industry experience within the van sector, particularly with large-volume, multi-site operations. • Strong understanding of FCA regulations and Mercedes-Benz compliance standards is preferred. • Proven background in all facets of department management within a commercial vehicle setting, ideally within the Mercedes-Benz brand or other high-profile automotive brands. • Proven ability in navigating complex organisational structures. • Adept in low-margin, high-volume businesses, focused on maximising efficiency and profitability.
A valid, clean driver’s licence is required
