Job Summary
Job Title: Trainee knitting mechanic
Reports to: Production Manager
We are looking for a motivated Trainee knitting mechanic to join our Production team. This is a full-time, permanent position, working 39 hours per week on a day shift. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in knitting machine operation, maintenance and repair. You will support the production team ensuring our modern plant of Stoll knitting machines are performing at their optimum levels by ensuring they are well maintained and fault free, you will also be working closely with experienced programmers and cross-functional teams.
- Setting up new styles on machines and overseeing approval for production
- Ensuring that production is being manufactured to the correct specifications
- Work collaboratively with production, programmers and machine operators
- Learn to troubleshoot and optimise machine settings for quality and efficiency
- Carry out machine maintenance, mechanical tasks, and breakdown repairs as required
- Maintain accurate records and follow established processes
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Experience operating knitting machines (Stoll experience beneficial but not essential)
- A reliable work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude
- Good understanding of knitting processes and machine operation
- A willingness to learn all mechanical aspects of the role
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Good organisational and communication skills
- An interest in innovation, craftsmanship, and new technology
Based in Stewarton, Monday to Thursday, 7:45am – 4:45pm, Friday 7:45am – 12:45pm.
Pay: From £27,276.00 per year
