Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their QA team in September / October 2026. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. The goal is to ensure that our customers receive first class products that meet their needs and expectations.
The Business:
Has been designing and manufacturing an extensive range of machinery at its production facility near Truro for over 75 years. In recent years, they have become regarded as global specialists in their field having sold equipment manufactured in Cornwall to 47 countries in the last 12 months.
Job Description:
- The Quality Engineer will be involved with the final inspection of completed machines ensuring they meet the customers’ specifications and quality standards.
- Approving or rejecting manufactured and purchased components with respect to the quality standards.
- Carry our First Article Inspections (FAI) of machined, sheet metal and welded components.
- Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
About You - Essential Skills
- Proven experience as Quality Engineer or relevant role
- Broad knowledge of welding and metal manufacturing techniques
- A keen eye for detail
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills (e.g. 8D, Root Cause Analysis)
- The ability to read engineering drawings
- Familiarity with quality inspection equipment (e.g. Digital Verniers, Micrometres)
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team
