Overview
We are seeking a professional and vigilant Security Officer (SIA) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment across our premises, utilising surveillance technology and implementing loss prevention strategies. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and assets. The ideal candidate will hold a valid SIA licence and possess excellent observational skills coupled with a proactive approach to security.
Responsibilities
- Monitor premises using CCTV systems and other surveillance equipment to identify suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Conduct regular patrols of the site to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorised access.
- Implement loss prevention measures by observing behavioural patterns and intervening when necessary.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, including emergencies, alarms, or disturbances.
- Maintain detailed logs of incidents, patrols, and observations for reporting purposes.
- Enforce site policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide first aid assistance when required, demonstrating calmness and professionalism in emergency situations.
- Liaise with local authorities or emergency services as needed to coordinate responses to incidents.
Requirements
- Valid SIA licence is essential for this role.
- Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security operations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and monitoring procedures.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive over extended periods of duty.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to report incidents clearly and accurately.
- First aid certification is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary.
- A professional demeanour with excellent organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, or bank holidays as required.
