About the Role
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join our distinguished spa team at The Langley. This is a unique dual role opportunity to lead both our exceptional fitness operations and the day-to-day management of our luxury spa facilities. You'll be the driving force behind delivering world-class wellness experiences to our discerning members and guests, whilst ensuring operational excellence across all club and spa amenities.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Fitness Leadership
- Oversee our gym, wellness studio, pools, and thermal experiences
- Source, recruit, and manage external class instructors and personal trainers
- Design and deliver a diverse, engaging schedule of fitness classes and wellness activities
- Provide expert instruction and personalised fitness support to members and guests
- Develop and implement a 12-month member retention calendar of events
- Conduct fitness assessments and guide guests safely through their wellness journeys
Operations Management
- Take full responsibility for day-to-day spa facility operations and duty management
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and service excellence throughout
- Directly manage night cleaners and coordinate with the maintenance team
- Act as health and safety lead for all facilities
- Oversee wet areas including pools and thermal experiences, ensuring compliance with all regulations
- Deputise for the Spa Director in their absence
Commercial & Financial
- Drive membership retention and spa revenue growth
- Manage class diaries and retention calendars to maximise revenue opportunities
- Monitor daily budgets, utilisation statistics, and sales performance
- Conduct monthly stock takes and support commercial target achievement
- Actively participate in member tours and sales initiatives
- Collaborate with the Spa Director to achieve agreed commercial targets
Team Management
- Directly lead night cleaners, personal trainers, and class instructors
- Conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings and appraisals
- Manage team rotas to ensure optimal coverage
- Ensure comprehensive training and development for all team members
- Foster excellent working relationships across the spa and hotel

Essential
- Fitness Training Qualification
- PT/Class Instructor Qualifications
- Experience in Duty/Operations Management within a fitness environment
- Proven team leadership and people management experience
- A passion for customer service excellence with the ability to exceed guest expectations
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and booking systems
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Good knowledge of pool and thermal experience operations
- Reliable, efficient, and proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and verbal reasoning skills
- A timely, methodical approach to work with proven planning abilities
- Access to personal transportation

- Membership sales experience
- Pool plant, lifeguard, and first aid qualifications
- Fire safety knowledge
- Experience of using Premier Core booking system
