Care Givers Ltd is an established and growing care provider employing approximately 150 staff across a range of services, including domiciliary care, residential care and supported living. We operate services regulated by both CQC and Ofsted.
We are looking for an experienced, organised, and proactive HR Manager to lead our HR function and work closely with our operational management and senior leadership teams.
Previous experience within health and social care would be highly desirable, particularly within a regulated care environment. Experience supporting a diverse workforce, including employees recruited internationally, would also be advantageous.
The Role
The HR Manager will oversee the day-to-day HR function and support managers across our different services, ensuring that recruitment, employee relations and workforce processes are effective, consistent and compliant.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and overseeing the HR function across the organisation.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and safer recruitment processes.
- Ensuring employee files and recruitment records are complete, accurate and audit-ready.
- Advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, and performance matters.
- Supporting and overseeing investigations and formal HR processes.
- Managing probationary periods and supporting effective performance management.
- Reviewing and developing HR policies, procedures, and internal processes.
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, and staff-retention initiatives.
- Ensuring appropriate employment and Right to Work documentation is maintained.
- Supporting HR compliance requirements relating to our internationally recruited workforce.
- Monitoring key HR compliance requirements and identifying areas requiring action.
- Producing HR reports and workforce information for senior management.
- Working closely with Registered Managers and Operational Managers across CQC and Ofsted-regulated services.
- Supporting the organisation in preparation for regulatory inspections, internal audits and external compliance reviews.
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident taking ownership of an HR function while remaining approachable and supportive to both employees and managers.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as an HR Manager, HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or similar.
- Strong practical knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Previous experience within health and social care or another regulated sector would be highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safer recruitment and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and absence management.
- Experience supporting a diverse workforce, including internationally recruited employees, would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Confidence in reviewing HR systems and identifying compliance gaps.
- The ability to provide clear and practical HR advice to managers.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise a varied workload.
A CIPD qualification or equivalent HR qualification is desirable, although candidates with strong and relevant practical HR experience will also be considered.
