Dental Receptionist – Hardgate
Vanguard Dental is looking for a friendly, confident and highly organised Dental Receptionist to join our team at our newly acquired practice in Hardgate.
Vanguard Dental is an independently owned and run dental group, with established practices in Anniesland and Dalmuir and our newest practice in Hardgate. We pride ourselves on providing excellent patient care in a friendly, welcoming environment and have built a strong reputation within our local communities.
As we develop our Hardgate practice, we're looking for someone who will become an important part of the team and help us deliver the high standard of service our patients expect.
The Role
As Dental Receptionist, you'll often be the first point of contact for our patients and will play an important role in their overall experience at the practice.
We're looking for someone who is warm and approachable, but equally confident, organised and able to manage a busy reception desk.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and providing a friendly, professional experience from arrival to departure
- Managing the appointment diary efficiently, including bookings, confirmations and changes
- Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries and emails
- Processing patient payments accurately
- Preparing invoices and assisting with general financial administration
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
- Handling patient enquiries and complaints calmly and professionally
- Communicating effectively with dentists, nurses and the wider practice team
- Helping to maintain an organised, professional reception environment
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the practice where required
About You
Previous reception, administrative or customer-facing experience is essential. Experience within dentistry or healthcare would be an advantage, but isn't required – we're happy to support the right person in learning the dental side of the role.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is confident and professional when speaking to patients both in person and over the telephone
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills
- Is comfortable processing payments and preparing invoices
- Is highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Can confidently manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a busy environment
- Is comfortable using computer systems and office software
- Can handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Is able to deal with difficult situations or complaints in a calm and professional manner
- Has a positive, proactive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team
- Takes pride in providing an excellent patient experience
Knowledge of dentistry, dental treatments or dental practice software would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Why Join Vanguard Dental?
This is an exciting time to join Vanguard Dental as we continue to grow and develop our practices.
We're an independent group rather than a large corporate, and we want our teams to feel genuinely involved in their practice. We're looking for someone who wants to become a valued, long-term member of the Hardgate team and contribute to creating a friendly, well-run practice for both our patients and staff.
If you're organised, personable and take pride in providing excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
