The Warehouse Operative is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching goods while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety and organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and check incoming deliveries against delivery notes.
- Pick and pack customer and business orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload vehicles safely.
- Move and store stock in the correct warehouse locations.
- Complete stock checks and report any discrepancies.
- Prepare goods for dispatch and ensure orders are correctly labelled.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely following appropriate training.
- Issue stock to the production/shop floor and accurately book items out of inventory.
- Report damaged, missing or incorrect stock to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is desirable but not essential.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Physically able to carry out manual handling duties.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Good communication skills.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Working Environment
The role involves working in a busy warehouse environment and may include periods of manual handling, standing and moving around the warehouse. Appropriate training and personal protective equipment will be provided where required.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
