Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) is looking for a skilled and customer-focused Electrician to join our Repairs & Maintenance team. You'll play a vital role in keeping our homes, buildings and communities safe by delivering high-quality electrical installation, testing, inspection, maintenance and repair services across a diverse property portfolio.
This is a full time, permanent role working across occupied and empty properties, communal areas, HMOs and public buildings in Rochdale. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, completing installations and ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with current legislation and industry standards.

What You'll Be Doing

Carrying out electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, testing and fault-finding activities.

Completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and associated remedial works.

Producing accurate certification and compliance documentation in line with regulatory requirements.

Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults and emergency repair issues.

Supporting planned, responsive and empty property work programmes.

Surveying work and identifying material requirements to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.

Working collaboratively with other trades and contractors to deliver successful outcomes for customers.

Supporting apprentices and colleagues through coaching, guidance and knowledge sharing.

Participating in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
-
City & Guilds 2330 (or equivalent Electrical Installation qualification).
-
City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations) or equivalent.
-
City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent qualifications such as 2394/2395.
-
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

Full UK driving licence.
Experience & Skills
-
Proven experience in electrical testing, inspection, fault diagnosis and repair.

Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations and compliance requirements.

Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

Experience working in domestic, commercial or public sector environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to service delivery.

Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Desirable
-
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) qualification.
-
JIB ECS Card.
-
IPAF and/or PASMA certification.

Knowledge of emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms or related systems.

Solar PV experience or qualifications.
