Job Purpose
To maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in a food production environment, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and company procedures. This role is essential in preventing contamination, maintaining product quality, and supporting safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of GMP production areas, including floors, walls, ceilings, equipment, and controlled environments.
- Follow strict cleaning and sanitization protocols, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and GMP guidelines.
- Handle and prepare cleaning agents, disinfectants, and cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Document all cleaning activities in logbooks or electronic systems accurately and in real time (GMP-compliant documentation).
- Monitor cleaning supplies inventory and report shortages or issues.
- Assist in maintaining environmental control by following gowning procedures and contamination control practices.
- Support audits and inspections by ensuring compliance with cleaning records and standards.
- Report deviations, damages, or potential contamination risks to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment in line with health and safety policies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous cleaning or hygiene experience in a food manufacturing or similar environment (preferred but not always required).
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals safely.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules.
- Physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced food production environment.
- Shift work may include early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Exposure to wet, cold, or warm conditions depending on the production area.
- Regular use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Pay: £15.95 per hour
