About the Role
Every patient deserves an experience that's personal, professional and memorable.
As an Optical Assistant, you'll play a key role in guiding patients through their journey—from welcoming them into practice to helping them choose the perfect eyewear that suits their lifestyle, vision and budget.
You'll become part of a supportive, friendly team where no two days are the same.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing exceptional customer service throughout the patient journey.
- Welcoming patients and ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
- Assisting patients in choosing frames and lenses suited to their needs.
- Explaining lens options and making tailored recommendations.
- Adjusting, fitting and repairing spectacles.
- Booking appointments and managing diaries.
- Carrying out pre-screening tests using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Processing orders accurately and liaising with laboratories.
- Supporting the smooth running of the practice.
- Working closely with Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians to deliver outstanding care.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who naturally enjoys helping people and takes pride in doing things properly.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous Optical Assistant experience (preferred but not essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A warm, confident and professional manner.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to thrive in a busy team environment.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
