Main Purpose of the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and organised Parts Person to join our busy Parts Department. This role is primarily responsible for accurately picking, packing, receiving and dispatching parts to support our Service Engineers, retail customers and workshop operations.
The successful candidate will help ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the parts warehouse by maintaining stock accuracy, preparing customer and engineer orders, processing deliveries and keeping the warehouse safe, clean and organised.
As part of the team, you will also provide holiday and absence cover for the Parts telephone and service counters, assisting customers with enquiries and orders when required. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
· Accurately pick, pack and prepare parts for customer orders and Service Engineers.
· Receive, check and book in stock deliveries using the company system.
· Maintain stock accuracy and ensure parts are stored correctly.
· Process stock returns, supplier returns and parts dispatches.
· Assist with stock checks and general warehouse organisation.
· Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse, following Health & Safety procedures.
· Safely operate warehouse equipment, including a forklift truck where authorised (training provided if required).
· Provide holiday and absence cover for the Parts telephone and service counters, assisting with customer enquiries and orders.
· Liaise with Service Engineers, the Workshop and colleagues to ensure parts are available when required.
· Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional approach at all times.
· Carry out any other reasonable duties to support the efficient operation of the Parts Department.
Essential:
· Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics, picker/packer or stock control environment.
· Good attention to detail with the ability to accurately pick and pack orders.
· Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
· Basic computer skills and willingness to learn internal systems.
· Good communication skills and a positive team-working attitude.
· Ability to work independently using your own initiative.
· Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
· Right to work in the UK.
Personal Attributes:
· Experience working within automotive, commercial vehicle, plant machinery or agricultural parts.
· Previous experience using stock management or dealer management systems.
· Forklift Truck licence
· Full UK driving licence.
Working Hours:
· Monday to Friday (standard depot hours).
· Overtime available.
· Participation in a Saturday morning rota (typically 1 in 3 Saturdays) paid at the applicable overtime rate.
· Occasional holiday and absence cover for the Parts telephone and service counters.
