If you're an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer who is ready to take on more responsibility, lead from the front and have a genuine influence on how an engineering operation runs, this could be the opportunity for you.
We're looking for a Senior Air Conditioning Engineer / Supervisor to join an established family-run facilities management business with more than 30 years of industry experience.
This is more than a senior engineer position. You'll remain hands-on technically while supporting engineers in the field, working closely with the Operations Manager, carrying out site audits and helping maintain the high standards the business has built its reputation on.
The Opportunity
You'll be joining a successful UK-wide facilities management business providing Electrical, Mechanical, Gas and Air Conditioning services to a diverse portfolio of blue-chip and household-name clients.
With more than three decades of experience, the company has built its reputation on quality, reliability and long-term customer relationships.
What makes this opportunity different is the culture. It's a family business that has retained its traditional values while embracing modern technology, with a genuine focus on training, progression and recognising the people who make the business successful.
You'll work alongside an experienced engineering team and have direct access to the Operations Manager, giving you the opportunity to make your mark.
The Role
This is a hands-on senior position combining technical engineering, supervision and operational responsibility.
You'll be working across a varied portfolio of sites including:
· Student accommodation
· Councils
· Airports
· Commercial offices
· Gyms
· Car dealerships
You'll work on a broad range of systems including:
· VRV
· VRF
· Split systems
· AHUs
· Chillers
Your responsibilities will include:
· Diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs
· Servicing and maintaining commercial air conditioning systems
· Providing technical support to field engineers
· Supervising and coordinating AC technicians
· Supporting the Operations Manager with day-to-day engineering operations
· Conducting site audits across the UK
· Carrying out safety and quality checks
· Ensuring RAMS and health & safety procedures are followed
· Supporting engineers with technical issues and problem solving
· Managing tools, equipment and stock
· Maintaining high standards of workmanship
· Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
· Helping ensure projects and maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who has the technical experience to command respect from engineers and customers, but also the personality to lead and support a team.
· 8+ years' experience within the Air Conditioning industry
· F-Gas or equivalent qualification
· Strong experience with commercial AC systems
· Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
· Experience working with VRV/VRF, splits, AHUs and/or chillers
· Good understanding of RAMS and health & safety
· Full UK Driving Licence
· Enhanced DBS
· Strong communication and customer-facing skills
· Confidence supervising and supporting other engineers
Why This Role?
This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who has reached the point where they want to step up without stepping away from engineering.
You'll still be out on the tools, but you'll also have the opportunity to lead engineers, influence standards, support operations and develop your career into a senior management position
