Job Overview
We’re a small busy cafe looking for a Kitchen Porter who can also help with simple food prep. You’ll keep the kitchen clean and running smoothly, and support our team with basic prep for sandwiches and hot dishes.
If you are interested to become a chef we will support you in that path.
What you’ll do
- Wash up, keep work areas spotless, manage bins and recycling.
- Set up and close the kitchen (open/close checks, cleaning, restocking).
- Basic prep: wash and chop veg, portion ingredients, make simple fillings/sauces.
- Help on the sandwich line during busy periods.
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
What you’ll need
- Good listening skills and clear basic English.
- Hard-working, reliable, and punctual.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and being on your feet.
- Basic knife skills and an interest in food.
- Right to work in the UK.
- (Nice to have) Kitchen porter or food prep experience; Food Safety Level 2.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.50 per hour
