About the Role
We are looking for reliable, professional and security-conscious Cargo Screeners to join our team.
As a Cargo Screener, you will be responsible for the security screening of cargo using approved screening methods and procedures. You will play an important role in ensuring cargo is screened safely, securely and in accordance with all applicable security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen cargo using approved screening methods, including X-ray, Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), hand search and other approved methods as required.
- Follow all company procedures and aviation security requirements.
- Identify and report suspicious items, irregularities or security concerns.
- Operate screening equipment safely and correctly.
- Complete all required screening records and documentation accurately.
- Maintain a high level of concentration and attention to detail throughout each shift.
- Follow security procedures and instructions at all times.
- Work effectively as part of a professional cargo security and warehouse team.
- Assist with the safe movement and handling of cargo where required.
Shift Pattern
This is a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern:
- Day Shift: 06:00–18:00
- Night Shift: 18:00–06:00
The role includes weekends and public holidays as part of the normal shift rotation.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Reliable, punctual and professional.
- Highly observant with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to follow procedures and instructions accurately.
- Comfortable working in a busy cargo and warehouse environment.
- Able to remain focused and vigilant throughout a 12-hour shift.
- A good team player with a positive attitude.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Flexible and willing to work day or night shifts as required.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- 5 years of checkable employment, education or activity history.
- Ability to successfully complete all required background and security checks.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Good spoken and written English.
Desirable:
- Previous warehouse or cargo handling experience.
- Valid forklift licence.
- Previous cargo screening, aviation security or security experience.
- Valid DNXCT qualification.
Training may be provided to suitable candidates where required.
