Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and versatile assistant to join our team! In this role, you will be the heartbeat of our café, providing exceptional service and ensuring smooth daily operations. Your enthusiasm and multitasking skills will help create a welcoming atmosphere for customers while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Hours are 7.30- 3pm over 4 days. Mon- Sat
Roughly 28-30 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders with enthusiasm, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, teas, snacks, and light meals, adhering to food safety standards
- Operate coffee machines and other equipment efficiently as a skilled barista, delivering high-quality drinks consistently
- Serve food and beverages to customers promptly while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the serving area
- Food preparation tasks such as assembling ingredients, making breakfast, burgers, paninins, wraps, sandwiches and salads ,packing orders, and maintaining stock levels
- Manage cash register transactions accurately using basic math skills, including handling payments and giving correct change
- Maintain cleanliness of the café environment by cleaning tables, counters, equipment, kitchen and ensuring compliance with health regulations
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista or in a customer service role within a café or food service setting
- Strong understanding of food safety practices to ensure hygiene standards are met at all times
- Ability to serve customers efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Capable of multitasking across food preparation, serving, cleaning, and customer engagement seamlessly
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and serving protocols is essential
