Legal Operations Delivery Manager
Location: Colchester, Essex
Reporting to: Head of Legal
Working with: Head of Client Partnerships, COO
This role is about control.
MPL Legal is growing.
More clients, more volume, more complexity.
That only works if the operation behind it is structured, scalable, and aligned with Claims.
The Role
You are responsible for making sure Legal delivery is ready, consistent, and scalable not
reactive.
This means:
- Ensuring the Legal function has the capacity, workflows, and structure to absorb growth
- Owning how Legal integrates with Claims not just in theory, but in day-to-day delivery
- Building processes that work under pressure, not just on paper
- Making sure service quality doesn’t drop as volumes increase
You are the person who ensures that what MPL sells can be delivered properly.
What This Role Really Requires
This is a delivery-first role. It will suit someone who:
- Thinks in systems, not tasks — you design how things work, not just react to issues
- Understands operational pressure — and builds processes that hold up under it
- Is comfortable with accountability — if delivery breaks, you own fixing it
- Uses data to drive decisions — not instinct or assumption
- Challenges constructively — especially where process, structure, or capacity isn’t good
enough

Experience We Expect
- Background in claims handling, legal operations, or delivery-focused roles
- Strong understanding of credit hire, personal injury, or litigation processes
- Proven experience in operational delivery, capacity planning, or process improvement
- Confidence working across multiple teams and challenging where needed
- Highly organised, structured, and comfortable with complexity

- Growth in volume does not create chaos or service failure
- Legal and Claims operate as one joined-up function
- MI is actively used to improve performance, not just report it
- The operation is predictable, efficient, and resilient under pressure
